Another Bleached Out Image Card

When I created my first Bleached Out Image Technique card I stamped a few images on other colours of cardstock. Here is one I did on light blue. For this card, I heat embossed the image with black embossing powder instead of clear, which gives you a more defined outline for your image.

I created this birthday card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #192 challenge. I used the October sketch at Crafts Meow.

Timeless Tuesday #190

This week's Timeless Tuesday challenge at Flourishes is to create a card or project with a yummy treat as the focal point. I don't have a Flourishes stamp depicting a treat so I thought I would create a Wedding Favour Box that could hold a treat and decorated it using Flourishes stamps. The box was cut using the new Cricut cartridge called Artiste from CTMH. I don't often make 3D items, but this was fun and easy to make.

After cutting out the box I randomly stamped it with 'Mr & Mrs' from the stamp set 'Happily Ever After'. I inked the two halves of the flower with Desert Sand. I traced the two flower halves onto printed paper to create the full flower which I adhered to the top, adding tulle, a brad and a tag.

Supplies -
Paper - Roxy, White Daisy CS (CTMH), Black CS (Bazzill)
Stamps - Happily Ever After, Botanical Bookplates Vol 2 (Flourishes)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Desert Sand (CTMH)
Accessories - Rhinestone Designer Brad, black tulle (CTMH)
Other - Fancy Framed Tags Two (Spellbinders), Cricut Artiste (CTMH)

Inside and Out Challenge - Bleach Technique

It's release week at Flourishes and time for noon time challenges. Wednesday brought the 'Inside and Out' challenge - deck out the inside as well as the outside of your card.

For this card I decided to try the Bleached Out Image technique found at Split Coast Stampers.

I started out by testing scraps of cardstock to see what the bleach would do. Different colours and different brands will give you different results. I liked the effect with this grey Bazzill cardstock. I stamped my image with Vesrsa Mark embossing ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder. Place a small amount of regular household bleach in a glass container. With a fine paintbrush apply bleach to the image - be careful not to soak the paper with too much bleach as it will bleed beyond the edge of your image. After the bleach has dried colour as desired with markers.

For the tag I lightly applied bleach to the center of it with an almost dry paint brush to get a soft fading in the center.

Paper - DP - Avonlea, White Daisy CS (CTMH), Light & Dk grey CS (Bazzill)
Stamps - Magnolias, Calla Lilies (Flourishes), Tender Tags (CTMH)

Think Pink Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my fellow Canadians, hope you are enjoying your long weekend. My mother-in-law has been in the hospital since the end of August, so my free time has been taken up with visiting her every day and I haven't spent much time in my craft room. I wanted to take part in Flourishes 'Think Pink' challenge so I put together this card yesterday. I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch #261 and got my colour inspiration from Color Q challenge #157.

For my background I used the Faux Letterpress technique. I brayered ink onto one side of an embossing folder before embossing my cardstock. I believe you can also apply the ink directly to the folder with your ink pad.

Supplies - Standard A2 size
Paper - Pink CS (SU), Black CS (Bazzill), White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamp - Magnolias (Flourishes)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Cotton Candy (CTMH)
Accessories - Striped ribbon, Grey Rosettes, Bitty Sparkles (CTMH), 1/2" black seam binding (May Arts), Pink rose, Rhinestone flourish (Prima)
Other - Exquisite Circles, Std. Circles Sm (Spellbinders), Embossing folder (Provocraft), Brayer, 3D foam
